Rep. Jim Hackworth - House District 33
IMMEDIATE RELEASE September
17, 2008
Hackworth to host Health/Jobs
Connection Conference
State Representative Jim Hackworth (D-Clinton)
will sponsor a community forum discussing the connection between jobs
and healthcare this coming Thursday, September 25, 2008, at 4:30 p.m.
EST at the Clinton Community Center. This unique conference will
discuss ways that the Department of Labor and Workforce Development, the
Department of Health, and the Cover Tennessee Insurance programs can
work together to provide assistance to the people of the 33rd House
District.
“We are going through a very difficult economic time in
this country,” Hackworth said. “We already were dealing with
healthcare and health insurance issues and then the economy went
downhill. The people of my district need to know what possible
programs—both from a healthcare and a jobs perspective—are available and
how those programs can actually interact in a way that is beneficial to
everyone.”
Hackworth is a three-term State Representative
from Clinton and serves as the Secretary of the House Consumer and
Employee Affairs Committee as well as serving on the House Commerce
Committee.
The forum will focus on job assistance programs, the
healthcare needs of the community, and the various insurance programs
offered by the State. Representatives from each of the various programs
will be on hand to participate in the program and answer questions from
the audience.
The Clinton Community Center is located at 101 South
Hicks Street in Clinton. All interested citizens are invited to
attend.
